 PEPPER RICE

Health benefits of black pepper:

It has a powerful healing property and is used to treat abdominal pain and sore throats. A good home remedy for colds and flu is to mix a teaspoon of honey in fresh ground black peppers.


Ingredients:

  • Rice - 1cup
  • Ghee - 1tbsp
  • Fresh grounded Black Pepper - 2 to 3 tsp
  • Dry ginger powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Garlic - 10  (crush)
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Salt to taste 

For Garnish:

  • Fried Cashewnuts - 1 tbsp (or) Peanuts

Method:

Cook rice till each grain is separate. Allow it to cool.

Heat 2 tsp of ghee and fry curry leaves till crisp. Cool and crush well with hands. Keep aside.

Heat rest of the ghee and fry garlic till crisp golden brown color. Add pepper powder and dry ginger powder fry for 2 to 3 minutes. Mix in rice, salt and crumbled curry leaves.

Garnish with fried cashewnuts or peanuts. Serve hot with pappad.
