How to make Sorghum orJowar Dosa or Cholam Dosa? - Indian Traditional Food Recipes- Dosa Recipes - Viji's New Recipes

 Sorghum  (or) Jowar Dosa  (or) Cholam Dosa

It is a gluten free Grain and loaded with nutrients.
Jowar helps to strengthen the bones hence very good for kids too and improves heart health.


Ingredients:

  • White Sorghum / Jowar- 200gm
  • Rice - 100gm
  • Urad Dal -75gm
  • Methi Seeds - 5tsp
  • Rock Salt - 2 tsp (optional)
  • sooji- 1 - 2tbsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1tbsp
  • salt to taste

Method:

  • Wash jowar and soak it for 7 hours.
  • Wash rice, urad dal, methi seeds separately and soak for 5 hours.
  • Drain the soaked ingredients and grind it to a dosa batter texture. Add sooji mix gently and set aside for 6 to 7 hours in warm place.
  • Add cumin seeds and water as needed and bring it to a pouring consistency.
  • In a dosa tawa apply few drops of oil and pour the batter to make a dosa.Cook the dosa on a low flame.
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney or Tomato chutney.
