Cooking Rice for Mixed Rices or Fried Rice Varieties

 


 

For Plain white Rice

Method - I:

Wash Rice three times and soak in enough water for half an hour.

Drain water thoroughly and pour two cups of water and add salt.

Pressure  cook for 15 minutes. Cool rice completely by spreading over a board plate. Separate the grains. 

Rices dishes should never be over cooked.  If the rice is hot while making mixed rices, it becomes soft while mixing and complete taste will be lost.

If possible, cook two hours before.


 Method - II:

To cook rice separately, pout 12 cups of water per cup of rice . Boil water separately.

Add soaked rice, when it starts boiling. Add 1 tsp of oil and salt  to the boiling water.

When it is half cooked. Cover with a muslin cloth, tie well and drain water thoroughly. 

After some time remove cloth and pour cooked rice in broad plate and allow it to cool.

 

Methods of cooking Basmathi Rice For Pulav or Briyani:


Wash rice 2 times and soak for 5 to 10 minutes.

Add soaked rice, when it starts boiling. Add 1 tsp of oil and salt  to the boiling water.

When it is half cooked. Cover with a muslin cloth, tie well and drain water thoroughly. 

After some time remove cloth and pour cooked rice in broad plate and allow it to cool.
